CTET certificate is mandatory for candidates who wish to get teaching jobs in government and government-aided schools. CTET eligibility criteria 2024 depends on three major aspects, candidates must fulfil the below mentioned CTET eligibility 2024 to ensure the final selection:

- The National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) has released the revised CTET Eligibility Criteria 2024 for candidates pursuing Teacher Training Course (TTC).
- According to NCTE, candidates who have got admission and are attending Teacher Training Course (TTC) can be termed as “studying” and can be eligible to apply for CTET exam.
- The candidates whose appointment has been challenged were eligible to appear in the CTET examination while pursuing Teacher Training Course (TTC).
- National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) regulations will be followed for eligibility criteria as mentioned earlier.
- Postgraduate candidates with minimum 55% marks or equivalent grade and three-year integrated B.Ed.-M.Ed.
- Minimum qualifications prescribed in the Recruitment Rules for Teachers by the appropriate Government of the state where the school is situated or in the Recruitment Rules for Teachers of the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan or Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti.
- Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) does not mean that the eligibility of the candidate has been verified for recruitment.
- Candidates who pass the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) do not get any right to appointment.
The final eligibility for any teaching recruitment will be verified by the concerned authority.
CTET Eligibility for 2024 December Exam
As per NCTE, candidates who are undergoing any Teacher Training Course (TTC) can be termed as “studying” and can be eligible to apply for CTET Exam 2024. ctet 2024 Its details are given below.
CTET Eligibility Criteria 2024 for Paper 1
Candidates applying for Teacher post Class 1 to 5 Must check CTET Eligibility for Paper 1 in Primary Schools.
- Passed Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known). OR
- Passed Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known) under the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations, 2002. OR
- Passed Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed). OR
- Passed Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education). OR
- Graduation with at least 50% marks and Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.).
CTET Eligibility Criteria 2024 for Paper 2
Candidates applying for Teacher post Class 6th to 8th For admission in government schools one has to first check the CTET eligibility for Paper 2.
- Passed Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed). OR
- Passed Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year BA/B.Sc.Ed or BA.Ed/B.Sc.Ed. OR
- Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in one-year B.Ed. (Special Education).
- Candidates who have passed B.Ed. programme recognized by NCTE are eligible to appear in TET/CTET. OR
- Postgraduate candidates with minimum 55% marks or equivalent grade and three-year integrated B.Ed.-M.Ed.
Nationality for CTET 2024 December Exam
Candidates must fulfil the CTET eligibility criteria to be eligible for the CTET December 2024 exam. If candidates fail to fulfil the following nationality criteria, their candidature may be terminated at any stage of the selection process. CTET nationality criteria 2024 are given in detail below.
- A Nepali subject.
- A Bhutanese subject.
- A Tibetan who came to India before 1 January 1962 to settle permanently in India.
- Candidates from Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Ethiopia, Vietnam and Burma who reside permanently in India.
CTET Age Limit 2024
There is no prescribed age limit to apply online for CTET Exam 2024. Candidates can attempt multiple times to improve their CTET score. There is no age restriction to apply for CTET Exam 2024.
CTET Eligibility Criteria for Reserved Category
There are no reservation criteria for reserved categories like SC/ST/OBC/PWD/Transgender etc. However they get a relaxation of 5% in the minimum qualifying marks required to qualify for the CTET exam 2024.

CTET 2024 Minimum Qualifying Marks
The minimum qualifying marks set by the Central Board of Secondary Education is 60%. No marks are deducted for wrong answers. The minimum qualifying marks are different for unreserved and reserved categories.
