ssc stonographer selection process

To get selected on the post of SSC Stenographer, candidates will have to go through the following steps-

  • written examination
  • Typing Shorthand
  • merit list

The exam pattern is as follows –

  1. SSC Stenographer written exam will be of multiple choice type.
  2. The total time duration of the examination is 2 hours and 2 hours 40 minutes for visually handicapped candidates.
  3. Questions will be in both English and Hindi languages ​​except Part-III.
  4. There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.
  5. Minimum qualifying marks in Computer Based Examination are as follows – General (UR): 30%, OBC/EWS: 25% and All Other Categories (SC, ST, PWD, ESM, Etc): 20%

Note: Candidates who have qualified the written examination will be called for Computer Skill Test.

Candidates who qualify the written examination will be called for SSC Stenographer Skill Test for final selection. In the skill test examination, a ten minutes typing test will have to be given on computer with a speed of 100 words per minute for Grade C candidates and 80 words per minute for Grade D candidates. SSC Stenographer Final Result will be released after the written examination and skill test, and the candidates who qualify both these examinations will be entitled for appointment letter.
